Through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Advancing the Agenda of Gender Equality (ADVANTAGE) contracting mechanism, Banyan Global conducted a gender analysis in Burundi. The gender analysis identified gender advances, constraints, and opportunities in Burundi, as well as offered conclusions and recommendations for integrating gender considerations into USAID’s strategic planning and activities. The analysis focused on health, agriculture, nutrition and food security, economic growth and democracy and governance, with a specific emphasis on gender equality and land tenure.
