Within the health care system, this concept translates to everyone—no matter their ethnic or religious background, age, gender identity, ability level, where they live, or who they love—deserving quality, affordable health care tailored to their unique needs, without facing any barriers, discrimination, or unconsciousness bias when trying to protect their health.

USAID/Nigeria Health Workforce Management Activity worked closely with Ebonyi State College of Nursing Sciences (EBSCON) to implement capacity strengthening activities and facilitate a mock accreditation exercise to support the full accreditation of its midwifery program. As a result of these efforts, EBSCON has increased the student enrollment quota for its midwifery program from 75 to 100 students.

USAID/Nigeria Health Workforce Management Activity advocated on behalf of the Ebonyi State Ministry of Health for the procurement of motorbikes for 40 USAID-supported primary health care facilities to support the retention and motivation of medical workers and increase the access to care for patients living in remote and rural communities of Nigeria.
