Workforce Development: Creating Employment Opportunities for At-Risk Youth in Honduras

Employment opportunities for youth in Honduras are few and far between, especially in the country’s high crime “hot spots.” Banyan Global is implementing the five-year United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Empleando Futuros (Employing the Future) project that targets at-risk youth in the country, providing job training and placement through a comprehensive and inclusive multi-pronged approach.

On Sept. 27, 2016, the second YouthPower Annual Learning Network meeting occurred in Washington, D.C. The invitation-only gathering included a panel of Young Southeast Asia Leaders Initiative alumni and provided an opportunity to learn about major innovations from YouthPower indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity members that have broad applicability.
