Banyan Global Wins Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) II Award
Banyan Global has won the Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) II task order, awarded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). GITA II is a five-year project that allows USAID’s Office of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GenDev) to provide on-demand, rapid-response, short-term technical assistance in gender integration to USAID missions and bureaus across sectors. GITA II will also support the implementation of the Women’s Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Act and the Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy.
The program will help USAID operating units fill gaps in staff capacity and complement GenDev’s efforts to respond to mission and operating unit requests. GITA II will provide strategies for incorporating and addressing specific gender gaps or inequalities, including preventing and responding to gender-based violence, in all activities, and will provide sector-specific guidance for integration of gender issues into development activities, with a focus on strategic and project/activity planning, performance measurement, data collection and analysis tools, and monitoring and evaluation.
Banyan Global looks forward to building upon its work on GITA to continue supporting gender integration at USAID through GITA II.
