This video describes the early stages of an education-financing program for medical students in Uganda that was launched in partnership with Equity Bank and Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute in Western Uganda. It highlights the financial barriers that students face in paying for their nursing courses and the serious implications this problem has on efforts to build the country’s health workforce. The video captures conversations among nursing students, institute administrators, and bank managers during a consultative process to find common ground and improve financing options for aspiring medical students.
