Banyan Global Presents at Malagasy Lutheran Health Department Fair in Antananarivo

The Malagasy Lutheran Health Department (SALFA) held a seho asa (work showcase) for its partners and members on March 24 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. SALFA began the day with a presentation and a guided tour for official guests of all the booths, featuring sponsors Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector Plus (SHOPS Plus) and AccèsBanque Madagascar as well as medical equipment suppliers and healthcare providers. In the afternoon, Stephanie Gober, Banyan Global Senior Associate in Access to Finance, made a presentation about Banyan Global’s work in Madagascar under the SHOPS Plus program. Also, a representative of AccèsBanque Madagascar explained the special products that the bank is developing for the private health care sector with the support of SHOPS Plus.

Banyan Global leads the access to finance and business strengthening component of the SHOPS Plus program, a $150 million United States Agency for International Development-funded project focusing on improving health outcomes by strengthening the provision of private sector health information, products, and services; increasing public-private engagement to improve public health outcomes; improving the enabling environment for the private sector within the health system at the global, regional, and country levels; and disseminating and applying innovative private sector models. As part of SHOPS Plus Madagascar, Banyan Global manages the Development Credit Authority guarantee at AccèsBanque Madagascar.
