As a subcontractor to Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) on the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Agriculture Rural Development in Iraq (ARDI) program, Banyan Global designed a rural financial strategy and program utilizing bank and non-bank financial service providers in Iraq. We identified potential vehicles and interventions that could enhance access to finance for poor farmers and other rural residents. Our team also conducted a market research study to assess the financial service needs of rural clients and used the results to inform ARDI’s national rural development strategy.
