Banyan Global Presents on Gender and Social Inclusion at 2017 YouthPower Learning Network Meeting
On September 26, Banyan Global presented its gender and social inclusion strategy at the 2017 YouthPower Annual Learning Network Meeting. Liena Isaula, Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist for Empleando Futuros in Honduras, and Louie Alexander, Principal for Youth at Banyan Global, led the discussion session. The pair covered how Empleando Futuros is incorporating gender considerations and masculinities trainings into its program cycle for grantees, trainers and facilitators, and at-risk youth. They also discussed the project’s efforts to reach out to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) community in Honduras, and its plans to support persons with disabilities.
