Under GITA II, Banyan Global partnered with USAID/Haiti to conduct a gender analysis to inform program design and implementation across the Office of Economic Growth and Agriculture Development (EGAD) portfolio. The analysis built off the USAID Haiti/Gender Analysis completed under GITA II in 2020. Using Banyan Global’s tested gender analysis research tools, a four-person research team identified advances, gaps, and opportunities on gender equality and women’s empowerment in the livestock value chain, watersheds management, and domestic resource mobilization. The findings and recommendations of the gender analysis guided USAID/Haiti’s EGAD office to incorporate gender equality and women’s empowerment into the design of existing and future programming related to agriculture, economic growth, and women, youth, boys, girls, and marginalized populations, such as persons with disabilities and LGBTI persons.
