Banyan Global developed this report under the United States Agency for International Development-funded West Africa Trade and Investment Hub (Trade Hub) project. To launch its work leading the access to finance component on the Trade Hub project, Banyan Global and SSG Advisors conducted field visits in seven countries in West Africa and met with 170 stakeholders across the region, including firms, financial institutions, associations, donors, and government authorities. This report details the value chain financing constraints and investment opportunities identified during the 2014 study, which focused on four regional value-added global value chains in West Africa—cashew, shea, mango, and textiles/apparel.
