In Colombia, the Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project, also referred to as Comunidades Saludables integrates gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) into all project activities to maximize the effectiveness of programming and strengthen inclusive health systems. The GESI analysis for Comunidades Saludables informs ongoing activities with a focus on sustainably meeting the healthcare needs of migrants in Colombia. The GESI analysis was conducted by Banyan Global between August and November 2020 in alignment with the LHSS GESI Strategy. It incorporates information from a literature review and key consultations with stakeholders in the territories the program works in: Bogotá, Cundinamarca; Cali Valle del Cauca; Riohacha, La Guajira; and Cúcuta, and Norte de Santander.
