Gender Analysis – USAID/India
Banyan Global implemented the Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) task order under the Advancing the Agenda of Gender Equality (ADVANTAGE) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. GITA provided on-demand, rapid response short-term technical assistance (STTA) to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Missions and Bureaus across sectors.
Under GITA, Banyan Global partnered with USAID/India to conduct a Gender Analysis from May to August 2019 to inform the Mission’s 2020-2025 Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). Using Banyan Global’s tested gender analysis research tools, a two-person research team carried out in-country data collection to identify macro-level gender equality advances, constraints, and opportunities in the country across the following themes: health and water, sanitation, and hygiene; energy and environmental health; and economic growth. The gender analysis report provided findings and recommendations by USAID/India development objective and intermediate result and content on the integration of gender and social inclusion into the CDCS. In December 2019, Banyan Global also carried out a gender analysis of the education sector to inform the Mission’s CDCS. The final gender analysis will be uploaded to this site once the USAID/India CDCS is finalized.
