Transforming Social Norms to Increase Economic Growth

In the Democratic Republic of Congo’s South Kivu province, inequalities between women and men in the province’s rural territories hinder economic growth. In February 2020, the Feed the Future Strengthening Value Chains Activity’s gender, youth and social inclusion team, led by Banyan Global, led an assessment of the project’s Gender Action Learning System (GALS) intervention to understand its impact in South Kivu and support the adaptation of the project’s gender, youth and social inclusion approach in 2020 and beyond. This summary document highlights key information and findings from that study. For additional details, refer to the full Technical Brief: Transforming Gender and Social Norms to Increase Economic Growth in South Kivu.
