USAID WEE Community of Practice Members
The USAID Women’s Economic Empowerment Community of Practice (USAID WEE CoP) members are USAID staff and partners implementing nearly 100 activities in over 60 countries. These activities focus on: recruiting, retaining, and promoting women in the workplace; entrepreneurship and access to finance, markets, and networks; and reducing discriminatory laws, employer practices, social norms, and gender-based violence including sexual harassment.
Through the USAID WEE CoP, members share knowledge to better understand what works, what doesn’t, and how to exponentially accelerate increasing women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. The USAID WEE CoP is anticipated to grow annually and has a tiered membership system.
- First Tier: USAID and implementing partner staff who manage gender equality and women’s economic empowerment activities that receive funding from USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub (GenDev). List of USAID WEE CoP First Tier members.
- Second Tier: USAID staff who are interested in advancing gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and do not receive direct funding from GenDev.
- Third Tier: Private sector actors, existing networks and associations, bi-lateral donors, multilaterals, foundations, and the wider international development community interested in advancing gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
