Banyan Global implemented the global Women’s Economic Empowerment and Equality Technical Assistance (WE3 TA) task order, awarded under the Advancing the Agenda of Gender Equality (ADVANTAGE) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. Under the direction of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub, Banyan Global provided advisory services to stakeholders to better analyze, design, implement, and monitor interventions addressing women’s economic empowerment and equality constraints and opportunities in support of USAID’s Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy.

USAID requested Banyan Global to develop the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality (WEEGE) Technical Guide to enable USAID staff to design, procure, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs that increase women’s economic empowerment and gender equality outcomes. The guide offers tangible solutions to support USAID efforts to integrate WEEGE into global, regional, and country strategic planning; project and activity design and implementation; monitoring and evaluation; and collaboration, learning, and adapting. It also includes practical tools, resources, and samples rooted in USAID Automated Directives System Chapter 205 and Chapter 201. The guide is designed to improve dialogue, coordination, and impact among USAID and its development partners as they seek to advance WEEGE.

In early 2021, Banyan Global worked with Marketlinks to launch the WEEGE Wiki to house the WEEGE Technical Guide and other relevant documents produced under WE3 TA online.
