Ms. Kreuger and Ms. Kim shared the findings from research that The Canopy Lab carried out for the United States Agency for International Development in 2021 on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted international market systems development professionals. They also shared findings from a 2022 USAID-funded study, Shaping Our New Normal: An Unprecedented Opportunity to Reimagine a More Inclusive International Development Workplace, which summarized international professionals’ shifting perspectives on their careers in light of the seismic changes brought on by the pandemic.

As a complement to this, Ms. Rames shared findings from institutional learning on supportive policies and practices for international development professionals with care responsibilities.
